Boys Set to Scrimmage at Crothersville

2017 Alumni Game to Include Women’s Game

Last year’s inaugural Rising Sun Alumni Basketball Game was such a success that a second Alumni game has been scheduled this year on Saturday, August 12th. This year’s event will include a Lady Shiner game for the first time. The girls game will be at 4:00 PM followed by the boys game at 6:00 PM.

Koons and Turner Named to All-ORVC Team

Rising Sun’s Nick Koons and Brent Turner were named to this year’s ORVC All-Conference boys basketball team. Turner is a junior post player for the Shiners who led the team in scoring and rebounding. Koons, a sophomore guard, shot over 80% from the free throw line and was the team’s leading scorer in conference games.

Shiners Lose to Cougars

The Rising Sun boys basketball team lost their final regular season game of the year at Trinity Lutheran on Friday, 57-45. The Shiners trailed 14-13 after the 1st quarter, but went on an 8-0 run to take a 21-14 lead. The Cougars answered with a 19-4 run of their own to finish the half up

Rising Sun will open their Sectional #60 play by playing the Sectional favorite and #4 ranked Oldenburg Academy Twisters on Wednesday, March 1st at approximately 7:30 PM.
