Another Chance to Purchase All-Sports Passes

With basketball season beginning, Shiner All Sports Passes will once again be available at the first few girls and boys home varsity basketball games. The girls have their home opener tomorrow night at 6:30 PM as they host Lawrenceburg. The Lady Shiners follow that up with home games this Friday and Saturday vs. Switzerland County

Brent Turner signs with Huntington University Baseball

Today, Rising Sun Senior, Brent Turner, furthered his baseball career by signing to play collegiate baseball at Huntington University. On hand at the signing were Brent, his parents, Dale and Angie, brother Brandon, grandparents, his high school baseball coaches and teammates. Also, Huntington Head Baseball Coach, Mike Frame, was at the signing day at RSHS.

Three Shiner Baseball Players Named All-State

Following the conclusion of the high school baseball season in June, three Rising Sun baseball players were named to the Class 1A All State Team. Seniors Derrick Eldridge, first base, and Bryant Housemyer, outfield, were named 1st Team All State in Class A. Junior pitcher, Brent Turner was named honorable mention Class 1A All State.

Great Season comes to an end in Regional Championship

The Rising Sun Baseball team played in the 1A Regional at Morristown last Saturday. The Shiners started of the first game against White River Valley with a little bit of tightness as they were behind 2-1 after 3 innings. Schedule Change for Saturday’s Baseball Regional

The Shiner baseball squad was originally scheduled to play the first game of Saturday’s Morristown Baseball Regional at 11:00 AM. Due to graduation at one of the other participating Regional schools, game times have been changed. Game 2 between Indianapolis Lutheran and Edinburgh will now be played at 10:00 AM. Baseball Captures Sectional Title

Although the Shiner baseball team entered Sectional #60 ranked #5 in class 1A, they were not the favorite to win the Sectional. That honor fell to #3 ranked Hauser.
