Rising Sun coach Bryce Kendrick:

A nine-run fifth inning led to in an early finish for Rising Sun at Milan as the Lady Shiners defeated the Lady Indians 14-3.

Cora Poling reached base four times on two hits, a walk and an error picking up three RBI and scoring all four times. She also had eight put outs at first base including one really nice stretch.

Kassidy Romans had the team’s only three hit game which featured one double and a pair of RBI. Sydney Bostic doubled twice with a ribbie. Defensively, she threw out a runner attempting to steal and tagged out a runner at home. Abby Wallace singled and doubles while knocking in three runs. Tyrrah Miller had the other multi-hit game with two singles and a couple of runs scored.

Sydney Pitts threw a complete game for the win and made four assists from the circle.

It wasn’t our best game defensively, overall, but we did have some good individual plays. I was really pleased with the way we hit. The team, throughout the order, took note of what I told them to look for and exercised a lot of patience. As a result, we turned in a 13-hit performance and got our second road conference win of the season.
