Shiners JV wins 1st game

After a few cancellations, the Shiners JV finally hit the field vs. Jac-Cen-Del. Behind the outstanding pitching of Bryant Housemyer, Zach Martini, and Derrick Eldridge; the Shiners gave up only two runs on two hits and won the contest 4-2. Jacob Sandlin, Jack Sullivan, and Scott Webb had big at bats that helped the Shiners.

Behind the outstanding pitching performances of Austin Armstrong and Mitchell Morris, the Shiners only gave up two runs on five hits Saturday to beat sectional foe South Decatur twice on Saturday. The Shiners played solid defense in game one and Austin Armstrong helped himself by delivering three solid hits. The Shiners went on to win 11-1.

Golfers Play Well at Tough Course

The Shiner golfers played one of their better rounds of the year at the always difficult Hillcrest Country Club in Batesville.  Rising Sun shot a 166, South Ripley 247, and Oldenburg Academy did not have a team score.  Bryce Murray was medalist with a 2 over par 37.  Other scores were Austin Armstrong 40, Aron

Golfers defeat the Knights

Bryce Murray led the way claiming medalist honors at the hilly Dearborn Country Club by shooting a 39 on the back 9.  Rising Sun won the match over South Dearborn 176-185.  Other Shiner scores were Austin Armstrong 44, Aron Walker 46, Brady Murray 47, Kurtis Armstrong and Jordan King 48.  The team plays at Hillcrest

Shiners Handle Milan

Behind the stellar pitching performance of Alix DeDreu, the Shiners defeated the Indians 9-0 on Friday.  DeDreu scattered 3 hits and struckout 15 Milan batters.  Read more at:

Shiner JV Beats Cubs

In the opening game of Saturday’s jv tournament at Rising Sun, the home team was victorious by a score of 7-6.  Tiffany Vinup provided the offensive and defensive punch to down the Cubs.  Tiffany was 3-3 with a double, a triple, and 3 RBI’s.   She was strong in relief getting out of a bases loaded

JV Tourney Champs!!!

The Lady Shiners scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to capture their own tourney.  They trailed the whole game 3-0.  Then in the home half  of the 7th  they scored 2 runs with two outs and two srikes on the batter, to stun the Greensburg Pirates and snatch the crown.  Read more at: 

Shiners win 5th straight.

Rising Sun won three games in a 20 hour span to improve to 6-2 on the season. Friday, the Shiners knocked off ORVC foe Milan behind a strong outing by Cody Weaver. Wednesday, April 16th the Shiners traveled to Franklin county to battle the Wildcats.  Behind the 3 hit shutout pitching of Tiffany Vinup, and the bats of Sydney Willhite, Alix DeDreu, and Bailee Bostic, the Shiners were victorious by a score of 8-0.  Read the story at:
