Shiners Nipped by Dogs

The second game of the Horshoe Classic saw the Shiners face the Bulldogs from Columbus North High School.  Rising Sun took a 2 run lead to the last inning, but was unable to hold on for the win.  The Shiners had the winning run 60 feet away in the bottom of the 7th with none

Athletic Physicals are May 20th!

Athletic Physicals have been scheduled for May 20th from 2:45-5:15p at Rising Sun High School. High School athletes’ physical exams will be from 2:45p-4 and Middle School athletes from 4-5:15p. The physicals will be provided by Dearborn Co. Hospital and will be $15. Each student athlete will receive a T-shirt from DCH. RSHS and RSMS

RS vs SD Dual Track Meet April 8th

On thursday April 10th, the Rising Sun boy’s and girl’s track team traveled to Switz. Co for a glimpse at some ORVC competition.  The Rising Sun Girl’s results were: RS=35, JCD=43, and Switz Co=73.  Girl participates that placed were:  2nd place Whitney Chipman in Shot put (32’5), 1st place Whitney Chipman (98’8) and 4th place

Golfers Hold Their Own in Hall of Fame Tournament: Murray Ties for 10th

The Shiner golfers made a respectable showing despite only finishing ahead of two teams.  This will be the toughest competition the golfers will face all year.  The Shiners shot a team score of 361 at the difficult Rock Hollow GC just outside of Peru.  Consistent 20 to 25 mph winds made conditions even more difficult.

Shiners JV Opens With a Win

On Wednesday April 9th the Shiners JV squad traveled to East Central to open their season.  Claire Poling pitched well, and the defense behind her did well.  Bailey Hunter and Kelsey Romans had multi-hit games, and Emily Kendrick added a squeeze bunt.  All of these things combined for a 7 – 2 win.  Please view the

Shiners JV Falls to Trinity Lutheran

On Thursday evening April 10th the Lady Shiners JV battled Trinity Lutheran at RS.  The Shiners took a 3-0 lead in the first, but saw that evaporate when Trinity posted a 4 in the fourth.  Trinity’s big inning was aided by an injury to Shiner outfielder Alexis Davis.  The Shiners were forced to play shothanded,

Thursday evening  Trinity Lutheran visited Rising Sun.  Rising Sun trailed early for the first time this season.   In a well-played and well-pitched game Rising Sun came out on top by a final score of 6-3.  Tiffany Vinup picked up the win, and Alix DeDreu got the save.  It was a multiple hit game for Sydney Willhite
