Chipman Wins Sectional in Shot Put

Congratulations to Whitney Chipman on becoming a sectional champion in the shot put! Chipman also placed 3rd in the discus and will advance to regional in both events. Also, congratulations to Kinzie Scott for advancing to regional in the 1600m run!

Trojans Over Shiners

It was Senoir night Friday.  The Shiners were hyped to beat a quality opponent and win for the seniors.   Even though the team played well, the EC bats were more productive than the Shiner bats giving them  a 5-2 win. Read more at:

Shiners Win 2 vs North Decatur

In game 1 on Saturday Rising Sun pounded out 17 hits and defeated the Chargers by a score of 10-2. In game 2 the Shiners were victorios by a score of 9-7.  The game included  4 double plays. Read more at:

Shiners Win Golf Version of Rivertown Classic Again

The Shiner golfers made it back to back titles in the Rivertown Classic. The match was scheduled to be held at Hidden Valley CC, but was moved to The Links due to a conflict. ORVC Conference Track Champions

On Thursday night, May 15th, was the ORVC conference track meet at Jac-Cen-Del. The Rising Sun Boy’s track team won conference scoring a team high 140 points. Athletic Physicals are May 20th!

Athletic Physicals have been scheduled for next Tuesday, May 20th from 2:45-5:15p at Rising Sun High School. High School athletes’ physical exams will be from 2:45p-4 and Middle School athletes from 4-5:15p. The physicals will be provided by Dearborn Co. Hospital and will be $15. Each student athlete will receive a T-shirt from DCH. RSHS

Baseball close one at Batesville

Monday the Shiners came calling on the Batesville Bulldogs.  After about and hour lightning delay, the bats of RS were electrified to the tune of a 7 run first inning.  Tiffany Vinup blanked the Dogs for 4 innings.  They were able to dent the plate in the 5th with a 2 run shot.  Bailee Bostic
