In a rare Thursday night affair, the Rising Sun Shiners hosted the Milan Indians in a ORVC game. Both teams were taking an unblemished conference record into the game with the winner taking control of the top spot in the standings. The Shiners came out strong and led the visitors 10-9 after 1 period of play but the Indians hot 2nd quarter gave them a 9 point lead at halftime. The Shiners picked up the defense in the 3rd and closed the gap to 4 points by the end of the quarter, but that’s as close as the Shiners could get as the Indians closed it by a final score of 56-45. The Shiners were led by TJ Manifold’s 13 points shooting 86% from the field. Landon Cole had 10 points and Chase Kuehn chipped in 9 points. The Shiners (3-13, 2-1) host Southwestern-Shelbyville on Saturday, February 8 at Noon.
