In a highly competitive game on Thursday night, the Rising Sun Shiners came up a little short in their bid to stay unbeaten in the conference as they hosted Milan. It was a see-saw battle the whole way as the Shiners held a 9-6 lead after 1 quarter and a 19-18 advantage at halftime. Milan led 28-26 after 3 quarters with the Shiners getting it all square at 35 at the end of the 4th. A costly Shiner turnover with under 10 seconds to go in the 4th took away the Shiners chance to win it in regulation. The Shiners had trouble finding the bottom of the bucket in OT only scoring 3 points to Milan’s 7 in the period falling 42-38. The Shiners were led by Peyton Merica’s 9 points in only 1 quarter of JV action. Kolten Smith had 6 and Jordan Parsons added 5 points. The Shiners (6-10, 2-1) host Southwestern-Shelbyville on Saturday, February 8 at Noon.
