The Shiners took to the home hardwood on Saturday night as they hosted conference rival South Ripley in a non-conference affair. It was the home opener and the Shiners were looking to rebound from a loss earlier in the week to even their record. The Shiners trailed 7-6 after the 1st with Junior Chris Bowne’s hot hand behind the 3 point arc keeping the Shiners in touch. The Shiners trailed by 9 at the half and couldn’t close the gap from that point losing 49 to 35. The Shiners were led by Junior’s Chris Bowne with 14 points (four 3 pointers) and Landon Cole 11 points (all in the 2nd half). The Shiners (0-2, 0-0), with a rare early weekend off, return to action December 13th at rival Switzerland County.
