Rising Sun Varsity hoops got off to a bad start in the season opener at South Dearborn this past Tuesday. The Shiner couldn’t get the ball into the bucket in the 1st quarter and trailed the Knights 17-0 to start the game. The Shiners showed grit and battled back the rest of the way winning the next 3 quarters but were ultimately unable to recover from the bad start before falling 50 to 40. The Shiners lost Sr. big man TJ Manifold to a knee injury in the 2nd quarter who was unable to return to play. The Shiners were led by Junior Guard Chase Kuehn with 12 points and Freshman Peyton Merica added 10 in his first varsity start.
