Shiners News · Lady Shiners fall to Rival Lady Pacers

The Lady Shiners took the pitch Tuesday evening against conference rival Switzerland County. The Lady Shiners and Lady Pacers both sat at the top of the conference standings and both teams knew the importance of the match. Lady Pacers came out with explosive energy scoring 2 goals within 5 minutes of the whistle. The Lady Shiners defense has struggled with surrendering early goals all season and it makes it hard to fight back. The Lady Shiners did not quit however, they responded quickly by a goal from Hannah Warr, assisted by Christina Diez to close the gap to 2-1. The Lady Shiners still trying to even the score before half would score the equalizing goal again from Hannah Warr and assisted by Kinsey Price, leading to a halftime score of 2-2.
The 2nd half started like the first with the Lady Pacers again scoring quickly putting them ahead 3-2. Lady Shiners would score minutes later off a free kick rebound by Kinsey Price. With the score tied both teams were pressing the attacks and both defenses stood strong. The go ahead goal would come off a free kick for the Lady Pacers that would find the back of the net with 10 minutes left in the match. The Lady Shiners would have 2 opportunities to tie with shots, but one would travel high and the other directly at the keeper. The Lady Pacers would go on to defeat the Lady Shiners 4-3.
Lady Shiners are now 2-2-0 in ORVC and 3-4-0 overall.
