After a Hauser 10-0 run to start the game, some fans may have thought that the Jets were well on their way to a blowout win, but that would be far from the case. The Shiners came roaring back and only trailed by 1 at the end of the 1st quarter, 14-13. Rising Sun continued their surge in the 2nd quarter as they led Hauser 31-26 at halftime. The 3rd quarter saw the Jets outscore the Shiners 18-10 to take a 44-41 lead that they would never relinquish. Hauser was able to pull away in the last 3 minutes of the game for a 69-51 win, but the final score was no indication of how close the game was and how well the Shiners played in a game that very few people were giving them a chance to win. Leading RS in scoring was Nick Koons with 16 points. Also scoring for the Shiners were Jake Bovard and Noah Pflum with 9 points each, Brent Turner 8, Trenton Gridley 6 and Jason McClellan 3. Rising Sun finished the season with a 12-11 record, the team’s first winning record since the 2002-2003 team went 15-8.
