The Rising Sun boys had an off night at both ends of the floor in Rivertown Classic action Thursday night, and Lawrenceburg was able to take advantage of that, while at the same time playing very good basketball themselves. The result was a 73-56 loss for the Shiners. Jason McClellan led the Shiners in scoring with 14 points. He was followed by Brent Turner 11, Nick Koons 10, Trenton Gridley 8, Noah Pflum 6, Wesley Rider 4 and Jake Bovard 3. Rider also had a game high 14 rebounds. The Shiners will face Switzerland County tomorrow evening at 5:30 PM in the consolation game.
The JV Shiners hosted Lawrenceburg on Tuesday in the JV portion of the Rivertown Classic, and had the ball for the last shot of the game with a chance to win, but fell short 37-36. Landon Cole led the way for Rising Sun with 16 points followed by Chris Bowne with 9, Daniel Daugherty and Max Bowne with 4 each and Brent Webb with 3. Lawrenceburg will play South Dearborn in tomorrow’s championship game at 11:15am at Lawrenceburg.
