Shiners News · Boys Earn Split at Charger Holiday Tournament

Cameron Adams’ 3 point bank shot with 7 seconds left in regulation was enough to propel the host North Decatur Chargers to a 58-56 overtime win over Rising Sun in the opening game of the Charger Holiday Tournament, but the Shiners were able to rebound from the tough loss to win the consolation game over Yorktown 73-56.

In the morning session against North Decatur, Nick Koons led the Shiners with 12 points, followed by Jake Bovard and Jason McClellan with 11, Trenton Gridley 9, Noah Pflum 5 and Wesley Rider and Brent Turner with 4 a piece.

Brent Turner led the pace for the Shiners in the evening session vs. Yorktown with 24 points, followed by Jake Bovard’s 5 three pointers for 15 points, Nick Koons and Jason McClellan both with 11 points, Trenton Gridley 8 points, and Landon Cole and Noah Pflum with 2 points each.

The Shiner JV team lost to two very good teams as they fell to North Decatur 54-37 and Yorktown 55-28.
