Shiner cross country runner Trevor Levi finished up his stellar senior season that included winning the Sectional and ORVC meets with a 91st place finish out of 178 runners in last Saturday’s Shelbyville Semi-State. Levi finished with a time of 16:56.7 which shaved off 16 seconds from his Regional time that was ran on the same Shelbyville course. His time was also 6 seconds better than the 17:02.6 that he ran at last year’s Semi-State on the same course where he finished 111th out of 180 runners.
The Semi-State capped off an outstanding month for Levi and the Shiner cross country team that saw the team finish 2nd in the ORVC and 5th in the Sectional, which advanced the boys team to the Shelbyville regional. Both races were won by Levi. The Shiners finished 9th as a team and Levi finished 18th, which was good enough to advance him to last Saturday’s semi-state. Kasey Baker also advanced to the regional on the girls side where she finished out her fine cross country career by placing 45th out of a field of 90.
Levi has not ruled out the possibility of running in college as he has narrowed his college choice down to Evansville, Anderson, and Northern Kentucky.
