Tuesday night, Rising Sun hosted Southwestern and traveled to Milan on Thursday. Both conference games ended up being two of the closest matches of the year, for the Shiners, and at times showed many similarities.
Both nights the Shiners got a slow start, getting beat in the first sets, (19-25 vs. Southwestern and 21-25 vs. Milan). They came back strong both nights, winning the second and third sets (28-26, 25-12 vs. Southwestern and 25-20, 25-16 vs. Milan). They let up, and lost their energy, getting fourth set defeats(17-25 vs. Southwestern and 16-25 vs. Milan), forcing both games to go 5 long sets. Tuesday, Southwestern fought harder and got the win( 5-15), but the Shiners did not give up Thursday, pulling off a conference win against the Indians(15-12).
The JV team lost both ORVC games this week, but showed improvement Thursday against Milan.
