The Rising Sun boys basketball team lost their final regular season game of the year at Trinity Lutheran on Friday, 57-45. The Shiners trailed 14-13 after the 1st quarter, but went on an 8-0 run to take a 21-14 lead. The Cougars answered with a 19-4 run of their own to finish the half up 33-25. Trinity Lutheran was able to maintain a steady lead throughout the 2nd half. Trinity Lutheran also won the JV game 49-44. The JV Shiners got in a hole early by trailing 17-1 and also trailed 39-22 at the end of 3 quarters. The JV squad was able to cut the lead to 3 with 10 seconds left, but could get no closer. The JV Shiners finished their season 5-14. The varsity squad will take on #4 ranked Oldenburg Academy in the 2nd game of Wednesday night sectional action at South Decatur. The host Cougars will play Jac-Cen-Del in game 1 at 6 PM followed by the Shiners and Twisters at approximately 7:30 PM.
