Shiners Defeat Trinity Lutheran in Regular Season Finale

Rising Sun built up a big lead against Trinity Lutheran and held on in the fourth quarter for a 91-81 win on Parent Appreciation Night.  The game marked the final home game for the team’s three seniors – Trenton Gridley, Jason McClellan and Brent Turner.  Turner led the way for the Shiners with 26 points

Carrigan to Play for the Saints

Standout senior Lucy Carrigan signed her letter of intent yesterday in the Wilson Hall of Champions to play basketball next year at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.  Carrigan finished her high school basketball career as Rising Sun’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,703 points just shy of Jessica Brock-Peelman’s 1,719 career point total. 

Shiners Draw Jets

Rising Sun will play Hauser in boys basketball for the first time since 2006 as the Shiners drew the Jets in the second game of Wednesday night action in Sectional #60 hosted by Southwestern (Shelby).  The Shiners are currently 11-10 with one more regular season game to play on Friday as they host Trinity Lutheran. 

Shiners Split Weekend Games

The Shiner boys basketball team defeated South Ripley 59-37 to earn Rising Sun’s first ever win in the new gymnasium at South Ripley that has been used since 2009.  The Shiners outscored the Raiders 35-17 in the 2nd half to cruise to a conference win that secured at least a share of 2nd place in

Shiners Win at Eagles’ Nest

The Shiner boys basketball team defeated Jac-Cen-Del last night 65-53 to earn their first win at Jac-Cen-Del since December 21, 2002.  Noah Pflum and Brent Turner paced the Shiners with 21 and 20 points respectively.  Also scoring for the Shiners were Jake Bovard 10, Nick Koons 8, and Trenton Gridley, Jason McClellan and Wesley Rider
